Fabulous Foyle

What is it about Michael Kitchen in Foyle’s War that I love so much?

Maybe it’s his clipped, concise way of speaking softened by his English accent. Maybe it’s a father figure crush. The warmth and caring in his lovely blue eyes makes me wish I was Samantha Stewart. Either way, he’s won my heart.

What makes you tingle?

Benedict Cumberbatch
I watched a mini series on HBO recently called Parade’s End and Benedict Cumberbatch made me tingle quite a bit. I’m pretty particular about the men I fall for and I’m not sure if it was his floppy blond hair, strong jawline or his deep baritone voice, but something about that man just made me go all tingly inside.

Not exactly Hollywood good looking, I honestly think it was just him, or rather the character he played. He was such a good guy. Just plain and simple, good. Yes, that’s a boring word to some, but he made the word sink down deep inside me. And it felt rather good.

Watching his character undergo such extraordinary circumstances without changing, buried in the trenches of war, he made me remember why I love men. Yes, Christopher is a fictitious character, but still, there are good men out there. I just know it. And watching this series made me believe in that again, and for that, I am thankful.  Isn’t that why we watch love stories in the first place?

I applaud the writers of the story, he was a perfect hero in every sense. Trustworthy, gallant, so very descent in every sense of the word. Never a cad, when all around him men were flopping. I have to admit, I just kind of fell in love with him.

How could you not?

Watch Parade’s End and tell me what you think.

I dare you not to tingle a bit.

What inspires you?

I think it's only fitting that my first post focuses on a beautiful man who inspired me this past year, and Michael Fassbender is it.

I know, I know, he's an actor, but his amazing acting ability just blows me away. The square chin, soulful blue eyes and sexy voice doesn't hurt either.  What can I say other than he just moves me in a way that feels damn good.

He inspired me so much I had to start writing my novel series The Guest House Chronicles, and for that I am grateful. I hear his voice in my head when I'm writing the hero and yes, I see his sexy face as well. I will even admit that I fantasize one day my book will turn into a movie and Mr. Fassbender will play the lead role and oh, hell yes, I would actually get to meet him. Wouldn't that be fun?

If you haven’t discovered the amazing talent of Mr. Fassbender, I strongly urge you to see any or all of his films. Here's a quick list of the few I've seen.

He was absolutely amazing in Shame. Yes, it's a gritty film about sex addiction, but his performance is fantastic.  And yes he was naked, enough said.
I especially liked him as Dr. Jung in A Dangerous Method. I didn't realize it was him until halfway through the movie. He was sexy powerful as Magneto in X-Men: First Class, and he even made the android David hot in Prometheus. He stole my heart as Rochester in Jane Eyre. He was also amazing in 300 and I only watched it because he was in it, believe me. That kind of violence is not really my thing. Some other lesser known films but also entertaining, Fish Tank and Angel.

I will admit I have not seen Hunger, I'm sure I will at some point when I need a Fassy fix, but the thought of watching him starve to death isn't something I'm really clamoring to see. But, I'm sure he's wonderful in it.

It's pretty obvious he's way overdo for a romantic comedy, considering he's definitely leading man material. I would be happy to share my book with him, anytime, anywhere. Ha!

So stop snickering at my crush and admit you have an inspiration or two. Someone who just makes you stop what your doing and say "Ah." Someone who fills your head with all sorts of naughty visions when you close your eyes.

Who inspires you?

And Michael, if you happen to read this, I know a cute little guest house in Dallas if you should ever want a private place to stay while visiting the Big D. :)
